SUDBURY -- Sudbury Police have arrested and charged a second individual with attempted murder in connection to a serious assault that took place on July 1, 2020.

As a result of their ongoing investigation, detectives determined that the original 25-year-old suspect was not responsible for the injuries of the 45-year-old victim.

After their initial altercation, the victim was involved in a second incident that was the cause of his serious injuries.

As a result, police charged a 48-year-old man Friday evening with attempted murder. He is due in court Saturday.

The 25-year-old who was originally facing those charges will be released on a Stay of Proceedings.

The victim remains in hospital in serious condition.
