SUDBURY -- A 27-year-old woman from Sault Ste. Marie has been charged with multiple robbery and weapons-related offences stemming from an alleged home invasion that police say took place on or around July 1.

Police say the accused and another individual entered the residence of a person known to them, where they assaulted and threatened the victim with a handgun. 

The victim, who was not aware the two had gained entry, was struck multiple times with the weapon.

Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for the woman’s arrest. 

On Aug. 14, officers observed the accused in the area of the 1000 Block of Second Line West, where she was arrested without incident.

According to police, the second individual involved with the incident was arrested a month earlier on July 14.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service have charged the accused with multiple offences including robbery with a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, threatening death, unlawfully in a dwelling, aggravated assault, forcible confinement and a breach of prohibition order.

The accused was held for bail court.
