Sault woman accused of scratching, kicking and hitting employees with purse

A 36-year-old woman is facing assault charges after some unruly behaviour towards staff at Sault Ste. Marie building.

Patrol officers were called to deal with "an unwanted person" in the 200 block of Wellington Street West around 5:20 p.m. Sept. 12, Sault police said in a news release Friday.

She is accused of threatening and assaulting staff by scratching them, kicking them and hitting them with a purse.

"The victims did not sustain any physical injuries," police said.

When officers arrived, she was found outside and arrested.

The woman is charged with assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
