Sault suspect charged with making threats at local high school

A 34-year-old suspect has been charged by Sault police after a local high school went into lockdown Friday morning.
Officers were called at 8 a.m. about “an unwanted person at a local secondary school who was uttering threats, causing the school to go into lockdown,” police said in news release.
“Officers were dispatched to the scene. The accused had left prior to officers’ arrival but was quickly located nearby. Although the accused resisted officers, they were arrested.”
Charges include two counts of making threats and one count each of resisting police and violating probation orders.
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
