On Thursday, May 23, 2019 officers with the patrol services unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 15-year-old male for pointing a firearm. 

It’s alleged on Wednesday, May 22, the accused was in the 200 block of Bay Street when he pulled a firearm out of his waistband, pointed it at the victim, and shot him several times in the head then fled the area. 

Police tell CTV News that the victim did not require medical attention.

The accused was located by police early Thursday morning.

He was found to be in possession of a BB gun and was taken into custody. 

Officers searched the accused at the time of the arrest and found him to be in possession of varying amounts of what is believed to be methamphetamine and Xanex, a drug usually used to treat anxiety and panic disorders.

He is charged with one count of pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon, and possession of a controlled substance. 

He was held for bail court.
