Update:

Police in Sault Ste. Marie now say they have tracked down the vehicle and the driver after a deadly hit-and-run on Tuesday.

They say at this time no charges have been laid, however, their probe into the collision is ongoing.

An 83-yr old man has died of his injuries in Sault Ste. Marie after a hit-and-run incident on Tuesday.

Police are looking for a black SUV that they believe was involved, and they’re asking for the public's help in finding the vehicle and driver.

The tragic incident took place on Second Line West by Turner Avenue.

Police have released pictures of the vehicle that they say was involved in the hit and run and they are asking the driver to turn themself in.

Robert Keetch is the Chief of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

"This is a tragic situation and an individual lost their life. We would like the individual to come forward and contact police, turn himself in. We're quite confident in the investigators assigned, that we will determine the individual in the vehicle responsible, so we're asking the individual to assist us to do that in a timely fashion so we can bring closure to the incident." said Keetch.

Police say the victim was crossing the road when he was hit by the vehicle.

There is no crosswalk or lights where the collision occurred.
