Sault police tight-lipped on waterfront investigation

Few details are available about a police investigation at the boardwalk in Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday.

Sault police announced an increased presence of officers shortly before 10:30 a.m. and asked the community to avoid St. Marys River Drive as it was reduced to one lane.

They said there was no threat to public safety, but did not disclose the nature of the investigation.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., police said the closed lanes were reopened and officer had left.
