Sault police seize $43K in cocaine and fentanyl, two loaded handguns in drug bust

More than $43,000 in suspected cocaine and fentanyl were seized by Sault police along with two loaded handguns during a drug bust at Grace Street apartment Wednesday.

"Around 10:40 a.m., detectives executed a search warrant at a unit within a multi-unit residence building in the 0-100 block of Grace Street," police said in a news release.

"The accused was located inside and arrested."

The 32-year-old suspect is facing a list of 43 charges, including failing to comply with a probation order along with drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and dozens of firearm-related charges.

Twenty-five of the charges are due to an order prohibiting him from having a firearm or ammunition.

"A search of the residence located two loaded handguns, three prohibited extended magazines, ammunition, approximately 111 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 218 grams of suspected fentanyl, digital scales, packaging materials, and $16,260 in Canadian currency," police said.

"A truck was also seized as part of the investigation as offence-related property. The total estimated street value of drugs seized is $43,831.50."

The accused drug dealer was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
