A 35-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie has been charged with dangerous and impaired driving following an incident Aug. 10 on Albert Street East.

Police received a 911 call around 10:15 p.m. and located the vehicle on Charles Street.

“They conducted a traffic stop,” a news release Monday said.

“Upon speaking with the driver, who was identified as the accused, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. They were arrested.”

Charges include impaired driving offences as well as a charge for violating probation.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 9.
