Sault police charge man, 30, with assault and making threat
A 30-year-old suspect is being held in custody on criminal charges in Sault Ste. Marie after an argument escalated Thursday afternoon.
Emergency dispatchers received a call around 12:20 p.m. Sept. 12 about someone being threatened verbally and with a knife at an apartment building on Sussex Road, police said in a news release.
"An investigation revealed the accused had gotten into an argument with someone known to them and pulled out a knife and threatened them," police said.
"The victim did not sustain any physical injuries."

When officers arrived and knocked on the suspect's door, he refused to exit until police had a warrant.
"Officers obtained and executed a warrant and the accused was arrested without incident," police said.
The suspect is charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
He is being held pending a bail hearing.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
