Sault police charge driver who hit school bus with students on board
A 20-year-old driver has been charged in Sault Ste. Marie for rear-ending a school bus with children on board Wednesday morning, police say.
The collision happened around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Simpson Street, Sault police spokesperson Lincoln Louttit told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.
Students were on board at the time, he said, but no physical injuries have been reported.

The driver was charged with following too closely under the Highway Traffic Act.
"Most police officers go by the belief for every 10 km/h in speed, you should be at least one car length behind," OTT Legal said on its website.
Penalties for following too closely include a fine between $110 to $500, four demerit points, and a 30-day licence suspension for G1, G2, M1 and M2 drivers.
A conviction will stay on a driving record for three years and can affect car insurance rates.
CTV News reached out to Algoma & Huron-Superior Transportation Services for comment and was directed to the provider, First Student Canada.
