Sault, Ont., suspect charged with smearing feces

A 57-year-old suspect in Sault Ste. Marie has been charged with mischief in connection with an incident last month.

The incident took place at 3:30 p.m. on April 9 in the 500 block of Albert Street East.

“An investigation revealed the accused had smeared feces on a door handle and left the area,” Sault police said in a news release Monday.

“A warrant was obtained for their arrest.”

Police made the arrest May 20, when the accused was seen in the area of John Street and St. Andrews Terrace and taken into custody.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 22.
