SUDBURY -- A 26-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie has been charged with fraud under $5,000 after agreeing to sell a video game console.
In a news release Monday, Sault Ste. Marie Police said arrangements were made online to sell the console in January.
"On Jan. 6, 2021, police received a call from a victim alleging the accused was selling a video game system on an online marketplace, however when the victim e-transferred $800, the accused failed to deliver the video game system," police said.
The suspect was arrested March 14 and charged with fraud. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 19.
