Roundabout construction in Sudbury will slow traffic again at Lasalle/Frood

With construction expected to be complete in November, Greater Sudbury is restricting traffic again at the corner of Frood Road and Lasalle Boulevard.

Crews are working to complete the roundabout at the intersection, the last major element of the Maley Drive extension.

The intersection will be limited to a single lane from Sept. 28 at 7 a.m. until Sept. 30 at 8 p.m.

“During this time, no left-hand turns will be permitted from any direction,” the city said.

“Motorists should expect significant delays.”

Bus routes will also be affected. Transit route No. 11 Donovan, upon arrival at Collège Boréal, will turn left onto Chemin Boreal, right onto Cambrian Heights Drive, right onto Bruce Avenue, right onto Dell Street, then continue onto Snowdon Avenue and will turn left onto Burton Avenue, where they will resume their regular route.

Arriving buses will not serve stops 1530 Burton, 1535 Selkirk and 1540 Humber during this time. Passengers from the region going to the Downtown Transportation Center should take a bus departing from route 11 Donovan / Collège Boréal in order to connect with a diverted bus arriving from Collège Boréal.
