Remembrance Day ceremonies held across the north

As people across Canada honour the men and women who have served and continue to serve the country during times of war, conflict and peace Friday, here is a look at Remembrance Day in northern Ontario.
In Sudbury, a parade left the Sudbury Armoury on Riverside Drive at 9 a.m. travelling down Broadway Street to Brady Street en route to the service at Memorial Park.

Members from the 2nd Battalion, Irish Regiment of Canada marched along with reserves and cadets.

Schools within the Sudbury Catholic District School Board held Remembrance Day ceremonies throughout the week.
St. Charles Catholic Elementary School in Chelmsford hosted veterans from the local legion and students gave the veterans handmade post cards.

St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School and Holy Cross joined together for a Remembrance Day service, Sudbury District Catholic School Board said.

Grade 1/2 students at St. David Catholic Elementary School in Sudbury wrote postcards to veterans thanking them for their sacrifice and service. The postcards have been mailed to military families across Ontario, the school board said.

NORTH BAY
In North Bay, a Remembrance Day ceremony was held at the cenotaph on First Street.
Local students sang during the memorial service.

Several hundred people were at the North Bay Remembrance Day ceremony Friday, including dignitaries, legion members and a large group of men and women from the local 22 Wing Canadian Forces Base.
