Power restored to Sudbury’s south end
UPDATE:
Greater Sudbury Hydro (GSU) said in a news release that power has been restored to all affected customers in Sudbury's south end as of shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday.
"If Greater Sudbury Hydro customers are still without power, they are encouraged to call us at 705-675-7536," said GSU spokesperson Claude Sharma in an email to CTV News.

Greater Sudbury Hydro (GSU) is aware of a power outage on Pioneer Road in the city’s South End due to a vehicle colliding with a hydro pole earlier in the day Sunday, officials said shortly before 3 p.m.

(Supplied/Greater Sudbury Hydro)“There is now a larger outage in the Pioneer Road, South Lane Road, and Henri Street areas in the South End as our crews work to restore power due to the damaged poles,” said the company in a subsequent news release at about 4:40 p.m.
“We hope to have power fully restored to all 400 customers within the next 90 minutes to two hours.”

The additional planned outage now affecting the South Lane Road and Henri Street areas in addition to Pioneer Road is allowing GSU crews to replace the damaged poles safely and restoring power to the entire area.
