Power restored to most Hydro One customers in Greater Sudbury

Power was restored late in the morning to customers in Greater Sudbury affected by Friday's outage.

Hydro One crews in Greater Sudbury are working to repair equipment that caused a large power outage in the city Friday.

Affected are customers from Valley East in the north to Moxam’s Landing in the southern areas of Sudbury.

One outage near Azilda is affecting 7,885 customers. Hydro One estimates repairs will be completed by 12:30 p.m.

The second outage, near Val Therese, is affected 1,003 customers. Hydro One estimates power will also be restored by 12:30 p.m.

No word on the exact cause other than the fact crews are “repairing equipment.”
