SUDBURY -- Sudbury Hydro customers in Copper Cliff should expect the power to go out this Sunday and next.

In a news release, Greater Sudbury Hydro said the outages are planned Aug. 9 and Aug. 12, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

"Greater Sudbury Hydro contacted affected residential customers through automated phone calls Monday evening to notify them of the upcoming power interruptions," the utility said.

The reason for the outage is Hydro One is interrupting transmission to the Clarabelle Transmission Station in order to complete scheduled maintenance work.

"Greater Sudbury Hydro will take advantage of the interruptions in supply to conduct equipment maintenance in Copper Cliff during those times," the release said.
