NORTH BAY -- A community hub in Powassan is celebrating its second year of operations.

'250 Clark' has hosted over 3,000 events since opening.

"There are people from North Bay who come here regularly and even up from the south," said Angela Wilson, 250 Clark supporter.

"It brings the community together. There's always something to do here for anyone," added Carrie Thompson, 250 Clark supporter.

The community centre, which has a fitness zone, second hand shop and much more was transformed from an old school.

"As a fairly new community member still so when I came here, 250 Clark was already established and it's been a great way to meet people," said Wilson.

Over the last two years, there's been baking classes, events for kids and festivals that celebrate the local farmers and beekeepers.

"There are repeat customers all the time. There are some people I swear if they had a cot they would sleep here if they could, because they're here every day of the week," said Kathie Hogan, 250 Clark Events Co-ordinator.

And for young children attending, parents say its great to get out and support the community.

"She always has a couple of friends that she'll know when she chooses an activity, and there's always someone here she knows from school or somewhere else in the community," explained Thompson.

Hogan says without support from Powassan and neighbouring communities, they would never be where they are today.
