SUDBURY -- The Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) is advising of a potential exposure at the Living Space in Timmins on May 1 or May 2. Testing is currently being offered to all guests and staff at the 21 Cedar Street North location.

Testing will take place Saturday, May 8 - Sunday, May 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is being offered by the Cochrane Social Services Administration Board (CDSSAB) Emergency Medical Services team.

Appointments are not necessary. Individuals are reminded to wear a mask and to maintain a physical distance of 2 m or at least 6 feet between themselves and others.

PHU reported 9 new cases on Saturday with two linked to contact with another known case, one related to an on-going COVID-19 outbreak, and the other six currently under investigation.

An infected person can spread COVID-19 starting 48 hours before the person had any symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19.
