SUDBURY -- Officials with Manitoulin Golf have put out an advisory to customers on Wednesday.

They say someone who attended the club on July 29 received a phone call while golfing that a family member has tested positive for COVID-19.

It is not yet known if the individual is also a carrier.

The club said the customer dined on the outside patio Wednesday around 1 p.m.

Customers who sat at the same table following this person have been notified.

The two servers that worked Wednesday afternoon will not return to work until they receive negative COVID-19 test results.

The establishment already takes several safety precautions including sterilizing all tables and contact surfaces after each use, physically distancing tables on the patio, and all carts are sanitized after each use.

Because one clubhouse employee is already away, this leaves the business short-staffed, so management has closed the restaurant for the next couple of days. The clubhouse will remain open.

There are currently zero active cases confirmed in the Manitoulin District, however, there are 22 just hours away in Greater Sudbury.

Manitoulin Golf is a nine-hole course in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island.
