Police seize sawed-off shotgun, ammo, northern Ont. teen charged
A northern Ontario teen has been charged with several weapon offences after police responded to a report of a prohibited weapon at a Kapuskasing residence.

James Bay Ontario Police executed the search warrant at a home on Cedar Street around 2 p.m. on Wednesday and found a sawed-off shotgun, along with a 12-gauge cartridge.
As a result of the investigation, the 17-year-old local teen has been charged with possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, possession of both a firearm and ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and failing to comply with a sentence.
The accused remains in custody pending a court appearance on Friday.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
“The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused person under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act,” said police in a news release.
