Police officers in Sturgeon Falls have seized about $20,000 worth of drugs.

In a media release issued on Monday, the West Nipissing Police Service says officers executed a search warrant at a Third Street residence in Sturgeon Falls on Saturday at around 12:15 a.m.

“Police located and seized in excess of 200 grams of suspected cocaine, large amount of Canadian currency, a digital scale, telephones and packaging materials,” reads a statement from police.

“The potential street value of the drugs is estimated to be $20,000.”

Following the drug bust, a 63-year-old Sturgeon Falls man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime.

A 39-year-old Sturgeon Falls faces one charge of possession of a controlled substance.

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear in court in December.
