UPDATED:

SUDBURY – Police responded to a call this morning at 7:11 a.m. regarding an armed robbery of a Kwik Way on Rideau Street.

Police are still on scene and they are not asking people to avoid the area any more.

"The dog track is done and our main concern was that we weren't getting any contamination," commented Staff Sargent Robin Marcotte, Greater Sudbury Police Services.

Marcotte says he believes nobody else was in the store at the time and says there were no injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male, medium build wearing a grey coat, dark hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the scene.

Police ask that if anyone has any information regarding the incident, to please contact them immediately.

SUDBURY -- There is a heavy police presence in the area of Lasalle Boulevard and Rideau Street.

This morning, a suspect armed with a weapon walked into a store, demanded money and then fled on foot.

Police say they are currently conducting a dog track and ask that the public please avoid the area.
