Police release new details about Sunday's Hwy. 101 crash
UPDATE #3:
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has released new details about a serious motor vehicle collision that occured Sunday on Highway 101 in Hilary Township, near Opishing Lake – approximately 45 km west of Timmins.
Police said the crash occured about 11 a.m. and involved two vehicle vehicles.
"The driver of the vehicle was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life altering injuries," OPP said in a news release Tuesday.
The highway was closed for approximetely 17 hours.
"The investigation is on-going," said police.
"Further details will be released as they become available."

Highway 101 fully reopened Monday afternoon following a crash Sunday afternoon between Timmins and Foleyet. Police officials said on social media that the highway fully reopened shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Few details are available, but the OPP's communications Twitter account for the northeast region said the roadway is closed because of a collision.
“Highway 101 is closed in both directions between Highway 144 (in) Timmins and Foleyet,” read the tweet.

The Ministry of Transportation’s 511 Map indicates all lanes of Highway 101 are closed between the Highway 144 turn off and Young Street in Foleyet.
Officials have not provided any viable detours.
“Reopening time unknown,” said police.
The ministry's most recent update just after midnight shows the road remains closed.
Police have not officially released details about the cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved or any injuries.
CTV News has reached out to the OPP for further comment – inquiries have not yet been returned.
