Ontario Provincial Police are investigating two sexual assaults that alleged happened at a popular summer music festival on Manitoulin Island over the weekend.

Just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, OPP and emergency medical services responded to a report of a female with injuries at the Country Fest Fairgrounds in Little Current.

An investigation has revealed that a woman was assaulted by an unknown man as she was walking back to her campsite after attending a music festival. She was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

While police were investigating this incident, they received a second sexual assault complaint at the fairgrounds involving another female.

Police believe the two events are linked and are seeking to identify one suspect described as:

  • Male
  • Thin Build
  • Approximately 5' 11" tall
  • Approximately 19-years-old
  • Dark hair, short on sides and longer on top
