SUDBURY -- Police have charged two suspects in connection with a June 23 theft at a remote camp north of Capreol.

About $10,000 worth of equipment and other items were taken from the camp, located on Morton Lake in Roberts Township.

The suspects were caught on camera during the theft, although they mostly covered their faces. The items were taken between 6:25 and 7:40 p.m., when the thieves rammed their jeep into the steel gates, forced their way into the building and stole items such as generators, saws, an outboard motor and various fishing gear.

The Sudbury detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, working with the crime unit, have charged two people.

A 21-year-old man from Sudbury, and a 26-year-old man from Capreol are charged with disguising themselves with intent to commit a crime and break and enter.

The 26-year-old has been released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on Sept. 16.

The 21-year-old was also released on an undertaking has a court date of Oct. 14 in Sudbury.

"The OPP would like to thank the public for their assistance with this investigation," police said in a news release Wednesday.
