SUDBURY -- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from the East Algoma detachment charge man and woman for thieving Christmas ornaments from the front lawn of a home owner who requested assistance locating the items on social media.

The homeowner filed a police report on Nov.21 where they had advised police numerous decorations had been stolen sometime overnight.

According to police, witnesses reported information on two people who were heard bragging about stealing the items.

On Nov.26 police executed search warrant at a residence on Capillo road where two individuals were arrested and the ornaments were located.

A 41-year-old man from Elliot Lake was charged with:

•             Theft Under $5000
•             Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
•             Fail to Comply with Probation Order (Two Counts)
•             Failure to Comply with Release Order - Other Than to Attend Court (Three Counts)

A 28-year-old woman from Elliot Lake was also charged with:

•             Theft Under $5000
•             Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
•             Fail to Comply with Probation Order (Two Counts)
•             Failure to Comply with Release Order - Other Than to Attend Court

Both the accused were scheduled to appear at a bail hearing in Blind River on Nov.27.
