Plenty of smiles at Tim Hortons across Canada

Share

The Smile Cookie campaign kicked off at Tim Hortons locations across northeastern Ontario on Monday.

“Tim Hortons and our staff really get on board with this campaign every year,” said Marian MacKenzie, owner/operator of several Tim Hortons in Sudbury.

“It’s an exciting time. It’s a lot of fun and we are always excited to start the program.”

Three charities will benefit from this year’s Smile Cookie campaign: the Sudbury Food Bank, Health Sciences North Foundations and the CTV Lion’s Children’s Christmas Telethon.

“The fact that they keep picking the Sudbury Food Bank as one of their charities is just such a blessing for us,” said Dan Xilon, executive director of the Sudbury Food Bank.

“It shows a very strong commitment to community and to the people we help ... We are so thankful every time we’re picked.”

Each Smile Cookie is $1.50 and Tim Hortons is also testing a new Smile Cookie plushie in Sudbury, Sturgeon Falls and Mattawa.

The plushie is reversible and has four different emotions. It retails for $5 with $2 going to local charities.

The Smile Cookie campaign runs until May 5.
