SUDBURY -- One person is facing drugs and weapons charges after police responded to a medical distressed call.

A 27-year-old has been charged with one drug-related offence and two weapons-related charges.

According to Ontario Provincial Police, officers responded to the call in the town of Mattawa at approximately 12 p.m. on Fri. Feb. 19.

The person in question was found to be carrying methamphetamine pills worth approximately $1500.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court on March 16.
