SUDBURY -- Ontario Provincial Police say they have discovered the body of an Azilda man in waters north of Peterborough.

Sunday morning, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) discovered the body of 20-year-old Tyler Christine-Bourgeois.

Emergency crews responded to the call of two people falling through the ice on Bass Lake around 5:30 Saturday afternoon.

The other person was rescued. According to police, Christine-Bourgeois was last seen being towed behind a snowmobile while on a toboggan on Bass Lake when he fell through the ice.

The deceased will be transported to Toronto for a post mortem examination.

The OPP is advising anyone to avoid driving on lakes and rivers with a snowmobile or ATV, saying no ice is safe ice.
