OPP charge more suspects in connection with northern Ont. car thefts linked to organized crime

The Ontario Provincial Police charged three more people and seized three vehicles this week as part of an ongoing investigation into organized criminal activity.
The case began July 30, 2020, when Kirkland Lake OPP began an investigation into a stolen vehicle with ties to organized crime.
With help from several specialized police units, police have recovered three trucks with a total value of $225,000 and a total of four people have now been arrested and charged.
A 27-year-old Kirkland Lake resident has been charged with possession of property worth more than $5,000 obtained by crime. A court date of Sept. 17 has been set.
A 26-year-old from Barrie is charged with possession of property worth more than $5,000 obtained by crime, trafficking in stolen property, and using a forged document. A first court hearing is scheduled for today.
A 22-year-old, also from Barrie, is charged with possession of property worth more than $5,000 obtained by crime, trafficking in stolen property, and using a forged document. A first court hearing is also scheduled for today.
A 34-year-old from Wasaga Beach is charged with possession of property worth more than $5,000 obtained by crime and using a forged document. The suspect's first court hearing is also scheduled for today.
