Ontario man charged with sex trafficking underage girls from Sudbury, Kingston
Two young girls, from Sudbury and Kingston, Ont., were rescued from sex trafficking in the GTA and their suspected abuser has been charged, but police fear there may be more victims.
The investigation dubbed 'Project Shrewsbury' began in August after police in the girls' cities received a tip about a man recruiting and transporting the underage females for sex trafficking.
Ontario Provincial Police coordinated the joint forces effort.
"Peel Regional Police became involved when it was identified that the offences against the females took place in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)," OPP said in a news release Wednesday morning.
A 37-year-old man from Scarborough was arrested Nov. 20 and charged with 11 offences related to human trafficking and child sexual abuse material.
"The victims were taken to places of safety and provided support services," OPP said.
"Police believe there may be additional victims and ask that anyone who has information come forward to their local police."

The suspect remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Brampton on Dec. 16.
His charges include assault causing bodily harm, making and distributing child 'pornography,' advertising sexual services, benefiting from sexual services related to an underage person, procuring under 18 years and disobeying court orders.
"The Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking has resources available for victims and survivors of human trafficking on their website at canadiancentretoendhumantrafficking.ca," OPP said.
"A national hotline is also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-833-900-1010."
