ABOUT THE RIDING
Nickel Belt is one of the largest ridings in Northeastern Ontario. It includes a bulk of the Sudbury District as well as most of the outlying areas of Greater Sudbury. Communities in this riding include Foleyet, Gogama, Onaping, Levack, Dowling, Chelmsford, Lively, Hanmer, Garson, Capreol and Coniston.

VOTING HISTORY
Since 1967 (and 1971 for the former riding of Sudbury-East which is now part of Nickel Belt), this region has been NDP country. When the riding was first formed in 1955, Conservatives held the seat until 1971.
