Ongoing family dispute leads to threats, more charges in Elliot Lake

A family dispute exploded in Elliot Lake on Thursday, ended in charges for one individual.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to a “dispute-related call” on Ste Camillus Crescent on Sept. 5.

“The complainant reported ongoing disputes with a family member,” said police in a news release.

“On this date, there were numerous threats made to cause bodily harm and damage property belonging to the complainant.”

As a result of the incident, a 45-year-old local man has been charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, one count of uttering threats to damage property and for failing to comply with an undertaking.

None of the accusations has been proven in court.

The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
