One person killed in Hwy. 17 crash in northwest Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police in Dryden are investigating a fatal commercial motor vehicle collision that took place Monday morning on Highway 17.

Police and other emergency responders arrived on the scene around 8:30 a.m. on Highway 17 in Satterly Township.

The passenger, 24, from Mississauga, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The driver of the CMV was transported to hospital by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries,” police said in a news release.

“Highway 17 was closed for an extended period of time but has since been reopened.”
