SUDBURY -- East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed one person was killed late Monday morning in a two-vehicle collision.
The crash took place around 11:30 a.m. on Highway 548 south of Humbug Pointe Road in St. Joseph Township, southeast of Sault Ste. Marie.
"It has been confirmed that one person has died as a result of the collision," police said in a news release Monday evening.
"The investigation is still ongoing. Further information will be released as it becomes available."
Highway 548 was closed for several hours as emergency crews and investigators completed their work. It has since reopened.
