SUDBURY -- A 58-year-old man is facing charges after a single-vehicle crash in Sudbury Wednesday afternoon.

It happened on Frood Road in front of the CTV Sudbury building. He was rushed to hospital to be treated for what later turned out to be minor injuries.

"This afternoon at approximately 1pm, a motor vehicle was travelling northbound, approaching Burton ... the vehicle lost control, left the roadway, drove thru the ditch, re-entering the roadway, crossing Burton and eventually came to a rest in the parking lot at Burton and Frood," said Greater Sudbury Police Sergeant Tim Burtt.

The truck was heavily damaged and some of the airbags appeared to have deployed.

No one else was injured.

Police say they driver is facing a charge of dangerous operation and impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
