One person dead following North Bay industrial incident
North Bay Police Service, with the assistance of Ontario Provincial Police, were called to the scene of an industrial accident Tuesday at the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission Rail Yard.
One person was found dead.
"Our hearts go out to the friends, family and fellow members of our Ontario Northland team following this incident," a spokesperson for Ontario Northland told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email Wednesday morning.
"As this is under investigation, please contact the Ministry of Labour for further information."
The Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario and Transport Canada are also involved in the ongoing investigation.
"Transport Canada is aware of the work-related fatality involving an Ontario Northland Railway employee which occurred in North Bay, Ont., on Sept.17," Katherine Proulx of Transport Canada told CTV News in an email Friday.
"Our thoughts go out to those affected by this tragic accident."
A team of rail safety staff was deployed by Transport Canada to work with local police to help investigate the incident.
