A 64-year-old man from Burlington was killed Sunday in a single-ATV crash in northern Ontario, provincial police say.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Highway 553 in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, nearly 95 kilometres west of Sudbury, shortly after 10 p.m. May 12.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said he was riding alone at the time of the crash and no other injuries were reported.

"The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the OPP traffic incident management enforcement team," OPP said.

This comes three weeks after a 34-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie was killed in a single-vehicle collision involving an ATV.

Last year, 10 people, including four children, were killed in ATV crashes in a span of three months in northern Ontario.
