One dead in fatal ATV crash on Manitoulin Island

A 28-year-old from Espanola was killed in a single-vehicle ATV crash on Perivale Road in Campbell Township on Manitoulin Island on Friday afternoon, provincial police say.

Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police officers along with Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services responded to a call concerning a single all-terrain vehicle collision shortly after 2 p.m. on Dec. 15, police said in a news release.

“A person, 28 years old, from Espanola, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said police.

“No other injuries were reported.”

Police have not provided any details as to the cause of the crash.

Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
