A hockey camp planned for August in Sudbury will boast some of the best and most decorated female hockey players in Canada.

The girls-only camp, put on by Northern Hockey Academy Inc., is headlined by Sudbury’s own gold medal winner Tessa Bonhomme, and includes Rebecca Johnston (another gold-medal winner from Sudbury), Jamie Lee Rattray, Marie-Phillip Poulin, Laura Stacey and Erin Ambrose.

“The accomplishments of this group include 10 Olympic Gold medals, three Olympic Silver medals, 10 World Championship Golds, 13 World Championship Silvers, five World Championship Bronzes, an NCAA Championship, a Patty Kazmaier Award winner and an NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player,” said a news release this week from the Academy.

“These women also bring a wealth of experience they will share, from scholarship and professional opportunities, training and nutrition education, and their pathways to NCAA college programs.”
