SUDBURY -- Ontario Provincial Police say a 17-year-old from Kapuskasing has been charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement.

Police say officers responded to a "domestic-related occurrence" in Kapuskasing on March 5 around 3:15 p.m.

Constable Stephanie Belec says the domestic dispute investigation involves people who have been in some type of intimate relationship, which can mean dating, living together, or married.

According to officials, the name of the accused is not being disclosed due to their age, as well as to protect the identity of the victim, who is under 16.

The accused has reportedly been released and is scheduled to appear in court on April 6, to answer to the charges.

None of the allegations has been proven in court.
