Two 14-year-old suspects have been charged after a commercial vehicle was damaged on Highway 11 last weekend by someone throwing rocks.

On March 30, shortly before 9 p.m., James Bay Ontario Provincial Police responded to a 911 call reporting someone throwing rocks at vehicles on the highway near the Mattagami River Bridge in Smooth Rock Falls.

“The caller's commercial motor vehicle had been hit by a rock, and sustained damage to the windshield,” the OPP said in a news release Thursday.

“As a result of the investigation, two 14-year-old persons, both from Smooth Rock Falls, were arrested and charged with mischief.”

The accused were released from custody with an April 18 court date in the Ontario Court of Justice in Smooth Rock Falls.
