Northern Ont. teen driver was doing 188 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Hwy. 11: OPP

A 19-year-old driver was travelling 188km/h in a 100km/h zone on Highway 11, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say.

“On July 13, North Bay OPP stopped a grey sedan on Highway 11 south travelling at 188 km/h in a posted 100km/h zone,” said provincial police in a social media post.

“A 19-year-old, G2 novice driver of Callander was charged.”

In addition to the stunt driving charge, the accused also received a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle involved was impounded for 14 days.

None of the allegations has been proven in court.

“Slow down (and) drive safe,” said police.
