Northern Ont. police seize drugs, weapons, three people charged
An early morning raid Thursday of a residence in Kirkland Lake netted more than $34,000 in illegal drugs, $4,000 in cash and a handgun with ammunition.
Ontario Provincial Police arrived at the residence on Tweedsmuir Road at 2 a.m.
“OPP arrested three individuals at the residence and located over 270 grams of suspected cocaine, over 22 grams of suspected fentanyl, approximately 89 grams of crystal methamphetamine and approximately $ 4,160 in Canadian currency,” police said in a news release.
“The suspected street value for the drugs seized is approximately $34,000. OPP officers also located a 9mm handgun and magazine with ammunition.”
Charged are two people from Kirkland Lake, ages 25 and 33, and one person from Kitchener, age 28.
They are all charged with trafficking and weapons offences, while the 33-year-old is charged with violating probation orders.
All three remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
