Northern Ont. police seize drugs, $200K in cash, three people charged
Three older suspects have been charged with drug trafficking following raids on two residences in Hearst, Ont., earlier this week.
Police seized oxycodone and around $200,000 during the Ontario Provincial Police operation, which took place beginning around noon Aug. 6 on West and Edward streets.
“During the investigation, three people were arrested and police seized 212 tablets of suspected oxycodone, packaging, a cellphone, a 2020 Ford F150 (as offence-related property), and approximately $200,000 in Canadian currency,” police said in a news release Thursday.

A 69-year-old from Hearst is charged with trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime more than $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order.
The suspect remains in custody ahead of a hearing in Hearst on Aug. 14.
Two other suspects, ages 70 and 57, also of Hearst, were charged with trafficking and were released with a court date of Sept. 18.
