Northern highways near Timmins mostly reopened Sunday
Winter weather had caused poor driving conditions closing sections of several highways in the Timmins region over the holiday weekend, according to Ontario 511’s closure map and the Ministry of Transportation.

REOPENED
In a tweet, Ontario 511 advised this section of Highway 11 reopened shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
Additionally, Highway 631 from Highway 11 to Becker Road in Hornepayne and Highway 655 from Highway 11 to Laforest Road in Timmins, reopened Sunday morning according to Ontario 511.

“Road closures continue across the province. Including QEW, Highway 401, 402, 417 and 11 … Avoid travel until conditions improve,” said the Ontario Provincial Police, in a tweet Saturday.
