North Bay woman charged with impaired driving after hitting parked car
A 38-year-old North Bay woman is charged with several offences after failing to stop upon crashing into a parked car as she was leaving an establishment Friday night, police say.
Officers were called to a business on Pinewood Park Drive just after 11 p.m. about a suspected impaired driver involved in a hit-and-run.
After leaving the parking lot, she reportedly drove north on Pinewood Park Drive and was later stopped by police on Worthington Street East, downtown.
The driver was arrested for impaired driving and was found to have "more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in her bloodstream" after being tested at police headquarters, North Bay police said in a news release.
During a search, officers found a THC vape pen.

She is also charged with failing to stop after a collision, having a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80 mg, and driving a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available.
The accused was released from custody but is now under a 90-day driver's license suspension and has had her vehicle impounded for seven days.
"Upon conviction, drivers face heavy fines, further driver’s license suspensions and possible jail time," police said about the impaired charge.
