SUDBURY -- Dale Forth of North Bay was dealt a winning hand in the Sept. 7 Poker Lotto draw. Forth matched five of five cards to win $100,000.

"It feels good to be a winner,” said the 74-year-old married father of two, who discovered his win while visiting a retailer.

“I used the ticket checker to scan my ticket and that’s when I saw the ‘Big Winner’ message on the screen,” he said while at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque. “I was stunned!”

The first person Forth told about his win was his wife.

“She had the same reaction as I did at first, but she was overjoyed,” he said.

Since Forth doesn’t currently have a vehicle, he is planning to use his winnings to buy a car.

“It’s a very happy feeling," he said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac’s on Trout Lake Road in North Bay.
